Oh my goodness, I can't believe I fell for this

21:16, Sun, Dec 8, 2024 | UPDATED: 21:17, Sun, Dec 8, 2024Nationwide is giving account holders a £100 bonus, but there are some conditions.
In a time when many households face rising costs, this initiative offers a timely financial boost.
The payments will be made between June 13 and June 28, 2024, but only to those who meet specific criteria.
That is poor journalism. If it can even be called that. Also what on earth do they mean 'will be made', more like 'were made'.

Yes, as discussed earlier, it seems that the Reach titles picked up on an old story from earlier this year and recycled it without paying attention - if you want proper journalism rather than disposable clickbait then can I suggest more reputable sites than those?ForumUser7 said:Oh my goodness, I can't believe I fell for this

Yeah, I saw the posts before, but was pointing out that it even has the previous payment dates in despite being a new article, and was phrased as if it was a future thing that was going to happen.eskbanker said:

Re proper journalism - I don't use Reach plc. I was linked to it online when I searched Nationwide to access online banking. Only clicked on it because I thought it was new, and I searched on the Nationwide Newsroom and couldn't find any comparable article yet - so wondered if they perhaps accidentally broke an NDA.If you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.

This popped up on my phone. Are the details correct? Do Nationwide publish the criteria anywhere?
I received the payment this year but wasn't totally sure why.

As with the rest of the thread, stories about the 2024 edition of this scheme seem to have been picked up by the Reach group and recycled for no apparent reason, so that one can be ignored just like the rest - as before, they haven't published criteria or dates in advance....VXman said:This popped up on my phone.
