Sounds like the announcement from earlier this year rather than the 2025 edition?

Either in two of the three months of January, February and March 2024 you received at least £500 in your current account or made at least two payments out of your current account. Or, in two of those three months you have made at least 10 payments out of the account.

Nationwide says you will have had qualifying savings if you had at least £100 in total in one or more personal savings accounts or cash ISAs with Nationwide at the end of any day in March 2024.

Recycled news, unfortunately. Look for confirmation from the society themselves, not a local rag.

If the pattern follows last years there'll be hints dropped around February that something will happen and then an announcement in the spring. If the criteria are tightening then perhaps they'll tell us more when there's still time to do something about it.

As mentioned in another recent thread about this, the hints have already started last month, albeit in a national rag that also isn't renowned for accuracy:
Crosbie said of the prospect of another ‘fairer share’ payment: ‘While it’s always subject to board approval, we’re well positioned to make that.’

    [...]

And she did not rule out the prospect of a further one-off payment to reward customers after the takeover.

When asked by the Mail about such a move, Crosbie said: ‘We’re not ready to make those announcements.

‘But we’re really confident that this year we can do something that’s above and beyond what you would normally expect.’

I meant hints from the society, not a representative in a paper.

The signs are certainly good though.
