I had a very strange night, mostly awake listening to stuff with eyes closed until about 3.00 am. It was most unusual as normally my head hits the pillow and I'm out like a light. This morning I've got my exercise class. Only three more this year before the leader goes off for a six week holiday, she really deserves it even though we'll all miss her and the sessions. It's been mooted that a couple of us could meet up to do some of the stuff each week - it's a definite maybe.Anyway - I wish everyone a good day without too much sniffling, sneezing or snotting.12

Morning all
Thanks for the start Gers - enjoy your class.
It’s finally calm here and we just lost one guttering clip in the storm. The funniest thing yesterday was finding a parcel that had been delivered on Saturday, to next door neighbours doorstep ……it finished up in our hedge! Fortunately non perishable!
Back to work today and loads of exams to invigilate - all about an hour long so no chance to get bored. I have craft orders to post, an order to collect and another to return to M&S, another order to collect from a different place and craft goods to collect from a friend.Hope everyone has a good week without any undue Christmas stress, and stays safe and well.AA13 -
Morning allCalmer here today too and on and off rain showers. Enough already!Off out shopping today for some bits and pieces. Going to our son's for Christmas day and his partner's son has loads of games he brings out to play after dinner but he'll be at his dad's this year so I'm off out to look for something for us all.Apart from that if I'm in the mood I might do some wrapping this afternoon which got put to one side over the weekend because of my stomach bug.Take care all x11

Morning GERS and all to follow. All sounds peaceful and calm out there but too dark to see what's happening. And it feels less cold too.
After a week of barking away with this dry hacking cough I think it is finally loosening.. After a string of totally sleepless nights I managed to sleep until 4.00 before the cough woke me when it was definitely looser - I won't go into graphic detail as I guess you know what I mean!!
I definitely need to sort out the freezer this morning. There is stuff rammed everywhere. Not helped by succumbing to quite a few half price ys stuff in Sainsbury's yesterday. We had gone early so we could be ready to dash to the check outs when they opened at 10 a.m.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or worried. Dp1 I hope DGD's procedure goes well today and she doesn't need another op. She is such a brave little soldier. Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning all
We got back from Barcelona at dinner time yesterday after an hours delay the landing was a bit hairy to say the least 😳 the whole plane was tipping from side to side very violently I have never been so glad to land, Barcelona was lovely we crammed so much in to the four days we did everything we wanted to and some more we went on the cable car which was magnificent if a bit scary, we walked miles each day and the Christmas markets were amazing, lots of tapas and vino were consumed, if anyone goes I would recommend you stay in the Gothic quarter which was beautiful and reminded me of of Venice, we also visited the ancient baths which was a present from my sister for dd there were four baths of varying heat from hot down to an ice plunge which we both did it took your breath away as it was so cold but we managed to stay under for 10 seconds 🥶 there was also a flotation pool which was amazing, it is a wonderful city and I would recommend anyone to go.
Back to reality today and I have two people coming we are going into town to meet our friends and have a walk around the shops and have some lunch out which will be nice.
Not sure about dinner tonight but will go and look in the freezer after this.
Hope everyone has been ok xx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning all, just a quick check in as I've missed a few days. I was sorry to read L.O hadn't been too well again @dp1 .Apart from that I can't remember anythingI posted my CCards , and hand delivered a few, just need to visit the P.O to send the foreign ones, probably a bit late but been so busy doing stuff for DH so it can't be helped. He had a bit of a walk on his crutches yesterday round the block with me alongside. The park was flooded but seen it worse.I need to do my O order shortly, running out of fresh stuff.Warm wishes to all, better go- I can hear the crutches moving upstairs!:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all; raining here.
My cold is still hanging around and I've developed watery eyes and a tickly cough so hope that goes away soon. DH will post the Christmas cards today and I might hand deliver a couple for down the road. Haven't been outside the house since Friday.
A light meal of jacket potato and tuna tonight but I bought some pears to poach so might need to do those. DD is driving back from a weekend in Bruges today and has promised me macarons and florentines
Hope everyone's day goes well.11 -
Good morning all
Thank you for the start @Gers
Lost landline and internet during the storm, they say it will take up to two days to repair.
Trying to manage on my mobile, but it's not easy.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12 -
Morning all. Much calmer weather today - it's cloudy and dull but should stay dry. We seemed to escape the worst of the storm but I know others weren't as lucky.
@RedRuby1231 - glad you had a fab time in Barcelona, pity about the flight back though.
Pleased to hear the sofa arrived @camelot1001 - in a box? I bet that was a surprise.
@dp1 - Best wishes for your DGD's procedure, I hope it's a good outcome.
Good luck with the freezer wrangling @TA!
At the top of today's To Do list is to order a new e-repeat prescription so I can get it filled before Xmas, other than that it's a case of what shall I do first.
The sofa and chairs could do with a clean (cream leather) but, as I'm no spring chicken anymore, they won't all get done in one day!And I need to pull out the TD, who knows what's lurking behind and under it! I have some rubbish to put out but it will have to wait as our communal bins are full to overflowing - again. Our little street often gets missed out on bin days; sometimes it's not helped because people park across the dropped kerbs and there's a primary school over the road that makes parking even more difficult in the morning drop-off/afternoon pick-up times.
Tea tonight is chicken stir fry with noodles, rice pudding for afters. And I'll defrost a bacon chop for tomorrow.
Enough waffle, have a good day and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Hi everyone,
Just a very quick one from me to say that we are home and girding our loins for a busy couple of weeks. We have three consecutive days of childcare from school pick up today so I need to take advantage of the few hours until 3pm. I took Esther to nursery this morning because she is so pathetic about it, her eyes look at you pleadingly and she says, mummy in a broken little voice, she walked in very stoically without a backward glance and we know she enjoys herself there, she just hates the transition.
Kitchen clean and food shop are top of the agenda, then Christmas cake, granola, banana bread and dinner making,
I hope little one's procedure goes well.
Hugs to anyone who needs one.
Have a good day.12
