Will Applying for Attendance Allowance affect Other Benefits

Currently I receive Basic State Pension and Pension Credit along with Carers Credit. I've been told I should apply for Attendance Allowance as too have complex needs. Can anyone say if receiving the lower or higher amount of Attendance Allowance will stop me getting Pension Credit? I'm just so very confused. Thank you.

As I understand it, Attendance allowance is not means tested, so should not have any effect on pension credit.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Competition Time, Site Feedback and Marriage, Relationships and Families boards. ... and it's not taxable either.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660

The only way receiving Attendance Allowance would affect your ventures is potentially increase the amount you get - if you live by yourself* and nobody claims a carer benefit for looking after you, you'll be entitled to the Severe Disability Addition for Pension Credit.
*Or with another disabled person, receiving a qualifying disability benefit or registered blind1 -
Do you actually mean you are claiming carers credit - that's a national insurance credit, not a benefit?Indecision is the key to flexibility0

My mistake anniecave - it is Pension Credit.0

If you already get DLA or PIP (i.e. awarded before you reached pension age and has continued) then you should get advice from Age UK or similar before applying for Attendance Allowance.0
