    Should be the important word.

Whilst some of my recent history is there, it isn’t 100% complete and only very select items from 10+ years.

I’m sure if there was a simple, cheap and “secure” method available then I’m sure the NHS  would t spend millions on bespoke systems - would it ?

Same here - I had an accident over 30 years ago and have several hundred A4 pages, obtained from SARs raised on the hospitals involved, referring to it and what happened but my medical record simply has a single remark on the actual day of the accident !
Even in the last year - my records are not fully completed - they use read codes rather than allowing me to see the actual documents !
Hence I am doing my own version of my medical records with a hell of a lot more actual useful information in it.

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Gp records never show everything and this is the info you see in the NHS app and Patient Access apps. A lot of the hospital records are not passed through to the GP for inclusion on their records.
For example my bladder cancer has 2 records on the GP system. The initial diagnosis and recurrence. Nothing at all about the 23 cystoscopies or the Mitomycin or BCG treatment

I am trying to put my historic medical records onto my google calendar - to make them accessible but it is extremely slow to get several hundred docs on the correct day !
I have put all of the documents (pdf's) on to google drive and pointed google calendar at these PDFs
I does allow unlimited attachments at each day but the problem is that there is no indication that there are any docs attached to a day - unless you open EVERY day - this is not exactly user friendly and also there is NO search facility to search 35 years worth of days for a specific phrase or even word used in the title of any document
So its back to the drawing board
I believe that I should be using access to create a database - but, nowadays my poor memory doesn't know enough to even begin - my days of using access ended with '97 !

I used to add items to an external hard drive.  I must admit after years I gave up because I knew I probably wouldn't ever use it. Or time and tech would make it non functional.
