Rejected twice for starling easy saver

My acceptance was pretty instant, maybe 5 minutes.
Credit score (worthless) is excellent and I did actually at the time have a fair amount in the account so goes against the research of who they are and aren't accepting.
Can see the frustration in not being told why though.0 -
ive just been rejected for the Easy Savings account at Starling. Good credit score. Plenty of money in account. As others have said, best finding someone new to move to. Sam2016 was best avoiding O2. Just switched from them and coverage was poor0

I think it's the manner in which the bank is handling itself that people are frustrated with. Just being told you're not eligible (but we won't tell you why..) is pretty poor you've got to admitDesmond_Hume said:Yeah, having a huff is a bit odd tbh. The rate isn’t even that great to worry about anyway.
You will struggle to find any financial institution that tells you anything meaningful about why they've declined a product application. Ultimately it's entirely their choice whether to accept or decline and application, and it's entirely your choice where you choose to take your money. As long as they're not declining on the basis of a protected characteristic, I don't see how anyone can have grounds to complain regardless of how annoying, disappointing or illogical it may be. Starling is behaving in the same way as any other bank in that respect.

If anyone doesn't understand why this is the case, I would recommend looking at the concept of 'tipping off' in respect of the money laundering regulations that apply to every bank. The fact that someone has no idea why they were not eligible for a product is a deliberate and necessary feature of complying with money laundering regulations rather than any failing on the part of the bank.Arthur_Sleep said:
