It's dark and wet outside. Yesterday was a lovely chilled day until the very minute I set foot outside at 2.30p.m. when the heavens opened with a vengeance. My meeting turned out to be more OK than I expected. This morning is my pool exercise session then a quick catch up with an acquaintance. So, a quiet day. Hope all is well with everyone.11

In heav’n the bells are ringing:
Ding dong! verily the sky
Is riv’n with angel singing.

Morning! We've got double threads going on again I see. It's raining so that's a good excuse to do a bit of a house blitz and book a tip run. I'm definitely going to pay for the kitchen today and take their cabinet feet back, I'm sure someone else can use them. The little princess is feeling off today, it usually happens when she throws up a furball so I expect I'll find one of those in a bit, hopefully I don't stand stand in it. Other than that and a phone call from the doc, I am not doing anything else. I might even watch a film...Chris, have a lovely time! Gers, that's a result about the meetingYorkslass, a treat from you to you is a great idea! snoozer, hope you're having a rest now! Coxy, omg, that's a bit steep isn't it [ from someone who hasn't bought stamps for ages] . Hope the weather where you are is not the weather here, have a good day all....

Looking forward to exercising my chuckle muscles!Pouring with rain at the moment but weather forecast says it will be dry for the cable car later. Hope it's not too windy.Have a good day all and hugs to the poorlies xx

Morning all
Much brighter and drier today - yesterday was horrid. Managed to fill the garden waste bin for its last collection of the year, then made some fire starters as presents with melted wax and spices in cupcake papers - they came out well.
Electricity is off for a few hours this morning so a trip to local garden centre with Christmas displays followed by coffee is on the cards.Later I’ll be making a new recipe which is a leek sauce type base then you sit pigs in blankets in it and cover with star shapes cut from puff pastry - looks nice in the magazine!Hope everyone has a good day

Good morning all, pretty dull outside, rain promised later.
OH didn't get the lights put up yesterday, he got waylaid as men do while looking for the extension lead, which obviously wasn't in the shed. He'll probably get on with them today, we can't be the only ones with no lights up!
Need to crack on with the xmas shopping, really not looking forward to it. I dislike shopping at the best of times. I've also got some cards to post. We don't send cards to our neighbours, we all decided a few years ago to donate to charity instead, which was when the men decided to do the light show.
Enough waffling from me, have a good day all.10 -

Morning all. Dull and damp here this morning.
Busy day at the Larder yesterday but I did pick up a small beef joint, which has now been halved and put in the freezer. I'm trying not to add too many things as I've a Christmas order coming on Tuesday and need to make sure there's room for it. After that I'll indulge in a few Christmas bits.
@Chrisca50 I did the cable car once but found it very steep going up! The photos show me smiling bravely
I've started reading Nigel Slater's Christmas Chronicles, which is a celebration of winter, interspersed with good sounding recipes. Very tempted to buy pears now to do his mulled pear recipe. Apparently there's also an older recipeswith Marsala wine, which we just happen to have in the cupboard.................
Second cup of tea is calling so will bid you farewell and wish you all a good day.12 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. I logged in earlier when there were two threads ongoing. I decided to come back and see which one got going!
It's miserable here after a few bright but chilly days. Apparently the weather is going to be very grim over the next few days, with possible snow thrown in the mix. SNOOZER I hope you have packed your winter woollies but enjoy your break whatever the weather. You deserve a rest after all the childminding. I remember well how I looked forward to a break from the DGDs, as much as I loved them!!
Plans went awry yesterday, as they do! The bottoming in readiness for the decs going up didn't happen as I got sidetracked with other bits of jobs which took up all morning. So it might happen today. Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of one. Take care all and stay safe xx
