I did it in person at a Barclays branch after using my Barclaycard .
Took some of my time but was very easy .
Its seems a good reason to use a high street bank/bricksandmortar credit card
In branch staff will not do this, as they are not trained. All they will do is fill in a request, someone trained will look at it & then process it.Life in the slow lane3 -
WorkHealth said:No they haven't given any proof of anything and nothing through to phone or e-mail. They are just ignoring everything just keep getting hope you are having a great day and be patient. Then surveys of how you rate Currys. I do wonder if they have Christmas or new staff in who haven't a clue what they are doing but its sorting it out when they don't seem to care.3

Bank have temporarily refunded on chargeback which wasn't expecting as not 14 days but not sure what will happen when Currys say collected even though not us.1

Currys central place finally phoned today and are going to investigate. According to their records there is no finance on my account but they said they don't have everything store can see. They have no idea what happened and will phone again in a week.0

Update - Currys phoned again but just to say there will be no update until 30th December and CCTV has been sent to specialist team and they may give me money back or may not. Currently the bank has returned the money on chargeback but it can be clawed back by Currys for 90 days. It seems like they have given the coffee machine to someone else though wasn't 100% clear other than they are currently refusing to give the coffee machine or refund and it was a Christmas present. Reckon its internal fraud if they did have my details. Trouble is if they tell bank someone collected what will bank do, it wasn't us but looks then as if it will be a small claims court case.
Will need to get a coffee machine from somewhere else for Christmas. Will not shop there again.0 -
If currys contest saying it was given to someone, then you will get redebited. Just the same as when they can prove delivery, which can be anywhere.
Contest is actually 45 days, banks just say longer to give them time to check systems.Life in the slow lane1 -
Have they told you what proof of identification they have for handing it over to whoever has got it?1

Thanks, this is my concern bank will take back if they say someone collected - they didn't make it clear if had been handed to someone but did say they were passing CCTV for the time they said collected to a specialist team so impression was someone other than us has been given it but no details as to how or what. They need name and item and last 4 digits of card but this is on their e-mails and internal staff we believe have access to this. Nobody has my details from me. I am worried as saw a case where it had been handed to someone else (pregnant woman) and Currys just said collected even though very clearly not the person who paid. I told them they can search our house and we've bought thousands of pounds worth of stuff but looking like I may lose this £500 if they say collected and doubt they care who. Will do pre action letter if bank take back.0

Theoretically they do, but there's always plenty of threads on here and elsewhere every December from people who collect from Curry's and don't have that information. I collected something last week and only had to give them my first name, and they scanned through the parcels, said my full name and gave it to me. They didn't ask me what the item was, or what my card details were, or even ask me to confirm my full name.
Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:3 -
I wonder if a subject access request for the CCTV of "you" picking it up (and your later visit to the store) might help flush things out....1
