Can you see the plate in the photo? sometimes it's a digit being read wrong - perhaps an N for M or W
It's not a scam though - if you do ignore eventually you'd get a court case and CCJ if you continued to ignore and did not defend.
Best to sort it out now.0 -
Gr1pr said:Definitely foolish to ignore it
Definitely not a scam, but probably a VRM misread
Check that picture of the different vehicle for the VRM details ASAP
Respond to state that the vehicle in the picture is clearly NOT your vehicle and they should check the photos carefully
Add a picture of your vehicle to the response to show it as a spot the difference
Complain that your DVLA data has been unlawfully accessed so is a breach of the KADOE contract and possibly a GDPR breach to too
Tell them to cancel the PCN and to send you written confirmation with an apology as soon as possible0 -
I would do as Gr1pr advises. You could redact or part redact your number plate in the 'spot the difference picture' you send them.2

Is it a mis-read or a clone?3 -
"We have never been to this location. It has wrong date and on the photo is completly different make/model, colour and plate."
FYI when complaining to DVLA re breach of KADOE contract etc.:-

"B7.2. The Customer shall ensure before relying on any item of Data that the Data provided matches the information in the request (for example, so that the model, type and colour of the vehicle match) and shall not seek to recover payment where the Data provided does not match the vehicle information in the request."5 -
You need to show the back of that letter, from what I can see it cannot hold the keeper liable anyway.

They've already got your numberplate! It's in the letter along with your name & address. No need to hide. Just contact them online and tell them this is clearly a misread. Not your vehicle in the photo.
Simple.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
