Water usage too high

in Water bills
Hello, I am hoping someone on here can advise me. My 89yr old mum lived in a 3 bed bungalow and her water usage seemed high 144m3 for seven months as an example so I queried this with the TW and after lots of complaining and cancelling the DD they sent someone out and said there is no leak their end.
Mum went into a care home in September this year so the property is empty but have recently received a water bill saying 'she' has used 4m3 of water in 10 days (apparently equivalent to 53 showers/50 baths), this is obviously incorrect.
I cannot hear/see any obvious leaks inside the property and as the house is up for sale, I don't want to spend a fortune investigating.
Has anyone got any suggestions or advice please? Thank you.

No leaks their end is irrelevant as their end is before the meter
Is the meter inside or outside
Read the meter inc all the digits
Turn off the water of at the stop tap in the house
Read the meter inc all digits in a few days
if the reading has moved you have a leak somewhere between the meter and the stoptap1 -
