Euro Car Parks - PCN for overstaying max time period allowed

Hi All,
A friend of mine recently received a PCN from Euro Car Parks for overstaying at Sainsbury's car park.
According to him, it was Saturday lunchtime and the queue to enter and exit the car park was extremely long and moved slowly because of gridlocks etc so he spent good 20 minutes before reaching the exit where the cameras stand.
As a result, his time in car park (entry to exit according to the PCN) was 1h 55 mins with the max allowed time of 1h 30 mins.
Is there any way to appeal or he has to pay the charge?
The PCN was sent within 5 days from the date of the event.

Neither
Plan A should be followed, complain about this PCN to Sainsbury's ( or the landowner). and get it cancelled ASAP.
Cameras don't care about gridlock, customer service do2 -
Could you remind me how to find out who is the landowner?
And if the landowner fails to cancel the PCN?0 -
Sainsbury's or their owner ( was Sainsbury plc I believe ) should know if they are the landowner, or know who is
The manager in that location should know, plus should be able to get the PCN cancelled, go on person, complain about it on social media etc
But here is what you asked for

If it fails, then follow the advice in the newbies sticky thread in announcements by coupon mad3 -

Please tell him to read the NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST thread. Please don't ask for a link. See my signature.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

My friend went to Sainsbury's and got the PCN cancelled as a customer.
The funny thing is the store manager said for future cases a receipt should be around £100 to get a PCN cancelled.
Thanks everyone for your help.2
