NTL dial-up to Broadband -advice please

My NTL Freedom dial up package finishes soon. I would like to have Broaband but having read all the MSE advice I don't want to go to Virginmedia who now own NTL- not that NTL was ever that brilliant in its day.
I would like a reliable company with good, inexpensive customer services . I don't necessarily want a combined phone BB package as I am happy to keep my phone with BT/18866.
My problems are
1. I hope to retire and move house within the next year. Is there a company with a contract that will let me do this without a huge relocation /reconnectioncharge?
2. I have 2 BT phone lines and would like to get rid of one of them. But which? The no I currently use for my dial up from the desktop is one I use for all internet forms, purchases etc, so I get odd callers on it. The other no is ex directory and used for personal calls. Can I use the ex directory line for BB even though the socket it is on a different floor to the desktop. ?
I'd welcome advice on good packages and the above. Thanks
Rachel
