Update: I have done just that.

heated up with a dash of wine vinegar & apple juice. Mine is fine- I made it about a week ago (the second half of cabbage)

Put part in a box to freeze - I WILL get it in somehow! and the smaller portion to eat over the next couple of days.

and oops yes, high jacking the thread again!! The ransom will be a portion of red cabbage! Where do I send it????

Thank you so much. I've had very little of it so far, but it was tasty.

I didn't even get any on Christmas Day! My plate was piled high while I was still in the kitchen, but no cabbage. I couldn't eat it all, and didn't even have any Christmas pud or mince pies. Had a snooze in the afternoon in the hope of feeling better, but 3.30am and it was all over. 🙃

Fortunately no-one else suffered, but we cancelled Boxing Day, and I haven't fancied much since then.
