Refunds due to pregnancy

Me and the wife had prebooked, paying £615 for the flights for June '25. However, we've since found out she is pregnant and will not be able to fly under their conditions (beyond 36 weeks). We also had purchased travel insurance through them but are being refused any refund or compensation.

Do we have any leg to stand on to get our money back, even in part?

Comments

  • Would be strictly an insurance matter, not the airlines fault you can't fly. What was the reason for the insurance refusal?
  • We had just read the small print and hadn't actually claimed. Have put in a claim regardless through travel insurance and will wait and see.
  • As previously asked - on what grounds did/would the travel insurance firm reject a claim ?

Most policies exclude pregnancy as it is not an 'illness' but an event under the control of the participants. Congratulations for the happy if expensive event!
