Airport Shell Is Scamming People with Poor Signage

Hey everyone,
I recently had a frustrating experience at the Shell station near the Newcastle airport, and I think it’s worth sharing to prevent others from falling into the same trap. The signage at this location is incredibly unclear, especially the one indicating that dropping off passengers is prohibited. The "No Drop Off" sign is barely noticeable, making it seem like it's okay to drop someone off if you're a customer. However, that's not the case—dropping off passengers is strictly forbidden.
Like many others, I misinterpreted the signs and ended up receiving a £100 fine. After some research, I found out that this is a common issue. Their Google Maps reviews are filled with complaints about this exact problem, and their overall rating is just 2.8.
Clearly, the signage isn’t doing its job, and it seems like they’re profiting off of people's confusion. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know who to contact or where to file a complaint about this? I’d appreciate any advice or guidance!
Thanks in advance!

Did you pay?
It's not a fine it's an invoice.
Read the newbies thread and you won't have to pay.1 -

I would complain to your MP and councillor. I posted a media article recently about councillor calling for new drop off area at Newcastle airport.

This is a fake fine. Just an invoice.
The NEWBIES thread is written to cover every case. Simply ignore the £170 threatograms (post 4 of the NEWBIES thread covers that).
Is it tedious old UKPPO who issued the fake fine? Ignore it but obviously you must tell them/their agents if you move house within 6 years. That's all.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If they go to court I can defend myself very easily. So I will just ignore the rest is that correct?
Moreover this is a scam and people get scammed a lot. As Nellymoser pointed out it is a general scam here and people unfortunately paid this.

Both of you:
Sit tight. Do nothing except the below.
By going confidently into the 'ignore' stance, the only steps to take are:
- Tell them if you move house within 6 years.
- Ignore the tedious £170 threatograms shown in pictures in the 4th post of the NEWBIES thread.
- Come back if you get a solicitor's LBC as per the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread.
Nobody pays a penny and no hearing is even needed in most cases. Search the forum and read a few cases as they are easy to beat by waiting for a claim form - it is easier than appealing!
There is no risk AT ALL in defending a court claim. No CCJ. No bailiffs.
@fonz02 no more replies on this thread please as it isn't your thread and it complicates matters to talk about two cases. We can't do that.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
