Morning all and thanks for the start @Scarlet. It's a bright and sunny morning here but very cold. We have frost too and, whilst it all looks very picturesque, I'm glad I don't have to do the work commute anymore.
I hope your buyer turns up for the sofas @camelot1001. We had to take the feet off our sofa too and it had to come through the patio door rather than the front door.
Enjoy your walk @SO - I know what you mean about the Michelin man impression.
DS was working from home yesterday but had an early appointment with his Nurse Mum for yet more blood tests. She had good news for him; his last round of procedures show his heart and kidney functions are back to normal and, providing the bloods are OK, then he'll be discharged. It seems they have now got the balance of his meds right and won't be changing them, at least not for now, but he will need check-ups from time to time. He called in for a cuppa and a chat on his way back home which was a welcome surprise as it gave me an excuse to down tools for a while.
The deep clean in the bathroom got finished yesterday - what a shame it doesn't stay that way! In today's firing line is could be my bedroom.
I'm having my usual annual debate with myself whether or not to put up the Xmas tree. I like to see one so it normally does go up, but I'm not sure if I can be bothered this year. I'll think on it over the weekend.
No idea what's for tea tonight, maybe scampi with side salad or soup and a sandwich. But first, some breakfast!
Stay safe and warm, hugs where needed or wanted. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
YL when I lost my Bob I couldn't face putting up a tree either so I bought a little white light up twig tree instead and just hung a few glass ornaments off it Six years on I'm still using it! But I do have a few string lights and light up ornaments, and of course candles, around too to make it look a little bit more festive. And it's much easier than decorating a big tree when your heart isn't in it. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8

Morning all
Cold here and a frost this morning, I slept so much better last night and so feel better this morning I am still coughing but not as bad as yesterday so I think it’s on the way out.
Its my DD’s 30th Birthday today I can’t believe where the time has gone, she was two weeks overdue and shot out in 1 hour and 15 minutes! We will do presents tonight once OH is home.
Dinner tonight is the salmon we did not have last night so will do that with some new potatoes and veg.
Rosy I hope your DH op went well xxx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -

Morning all, and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
We spent out on some draught excluder tape, a chimney cushion and a letterbox flap yesterday as the front door is a bit gappy. Much more cosy last night. We are off to Canterbury later to see DS2 and start shopping for C as hadn't started due to the move. Will be glad to make a start as have usually finished by now!!
Enjoy the walk @silver-oldie x
Good news about DS's results @YorksLass x
Annoying about the card @-taff - I have just reported the third ID theft on behalf of my Mum. Just shocking how these things happen. It makes her quite anxious and the banks (B, H, and T*B) aren't very easy to talk to as they don't have branches in Mum's town so you spend ages on the phone.
Dinner tonight is a yummy mushroom risotto mmmmmm.
Have a good day everyone,

Morning all, it's sunny but very brrr 🥶 and my leg is giving me some extra gyp today.
I had a bit of a tidy up at Dad's, I don't understand why he can't put his rubbish in the bin rather than leaving it all on the kitchen worktops ! Mr Fix It had to sort out his phone charger as his phone wasn't charging, turns out he had the right wire but in the wrong plug, one from another appliance which was unknown. He'd also lost his hoover one somewhere too so we had to hunt for that, any excuse not to hoover 😁 He has to pull every plug from the wall socket and every wire from it's plug then forgets which is which 🤨 Think he's worried that they'll use electric surreptitiously.
Today I want to make some cake as the tin is completely empty, not even a crumb in there, so as I have some mushy bananas I'll make a banana and sultana cake. We shouldn't really be eating cake but in this weather it will go down a treat with a hot drink 😉
We have a delivery of more filament for the 3D printer coming today too, some red and green this time. He's hooked on the thing but he has to keep going up and down the stairs to check on it so at least he's getting some exercise 🤣
Rosy hope DH's op went well and he has a swift recovery.
taff Oh no ! What a palaver. Hope everything turns out well and they don't have to take it back out. Are we having a celebratory house kitchen party ? 🥂🍹🎈
YL hope it's good news for your DS
Right enough waffling, I hope all the poorly ones are soon on the road to recovery.
Take care all

Morning everyone just got in from a cleaning job I know what you mean SO the lady I clean for just took one look at me and said it can’t be that cold but it’s thawing a bit now so I walked back in bright sunshine that’s my vitamin D for the day enjoy your walk . Rosy I hop DH hip op went well and he has a swift recovery Taff I would have been absolutely furious why isn’t anything straightforward anymore we are losing our last bank in the new year and every one says but you have a little post office counter in the shop see if they are saying that when they are standing in a queue when business are paying in and getting change. Right I’m going to show off now guess who wrapped all there Xmas presents yesterday to be fair I haven’t many to wrap for it’s mostly money these days but it’s a job I hate. Some sort of pasta bake tonight I’ve got a bit of ham left and some mushrooms however it turns out it will be tasty with plenty of cheese on you can see the healthy eating has gone out of the window it’s to cold . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning all, lovely bright day here. Tidying up and then aqua class this afternoon
have a good day allCarolbee9 -
@TA - My thoughts exactly. I'll have a look around and see if I can find something that takes my fancy. If so, the tree and most of the baubles can go to the CS - a bit more stuff gone.
Just had a phone call from the FD to says DH's ashes are ready for collection. The cremation was only on Tuesday so, although I was expecting a call, I didn't expect it quite so soon and it took me off guard. I expect there will be more such moments in the future. I don't mind going by myself but I think DS might want to come too so I'll liaise with him on when.
@nannywindow - When I read about your Dad's exploits, it's like deja vu - my Dad was just the same. The most frustrating was when the clocks went back/forward or adjusted to the time signal and he thought they were broken.
@IzzyBee - We used to have 5 different bank branches within walking distance but they've all gone. We do have a Post Office but even that closed for about 12 months when the store it was in closed down. And they removed the post box too. The replacement PO is in a teeny tiny shop that sells cards, balloons, party stuff, stationery etc - so far I've been lucky enough not to have to queue outside.
The frost is lingering and I'm still contemplating the bedroom but not feeling the urge so far!Be kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Afternoon all, DH isn't back home yet after his hip op but hopefully later. @Gers and others - Thanks for the good wishes you sent , you are a lovely lot. The operation proved rather more complicated than they thought and took longer too, but he was cheerful last night, not so much this morning as he couldn't get to sleep lying on his back so was knac****d. They've had him up doing the exercises.@Taff, what a palaver with your bank card, hope it's sorted soon. YorksLass, good news for DS .I'm sorry I can't remember a thing you all said, my phone has never stopped ringing and my mind is jumping around with things I have to doVery cold and bright here, lovely sunrise though.
