58 minutes to convert 2 files 1 at 90 mins 1 at 102mins.. that includes burning..

    Done on a
    Athlon 2600+
    1GB RAM
    Windows XP SP3
Also converting from one drive to another

The forecast time was for one file.. It then went on to do the next one so it actually worked out at 53 minutes to do both which is still a lot better than I have seen.... I usually use VSO convertXtoDVD but this is much faster. ConvertX took almost double the time.. Doesnt seem to be any loss of quality even though I have the whole 3 hours on one DVD. Just as another point.. one of the files I used had an error. It happened when it was being converted from the DVD and it wouldnt play in my DIVX DVD player. And neither ConvertX or NERO would convert it back. But after checking the movie the DVD plays back no problem

Excellent find ABH .. Thanks again

You're welcome, I'm glad it worked out for you. I got the feeling people thought I was stretching the truth there for a while  especially with bat999's reply :D

Svcd2DVD is also a good program as the other poster said, though it's not exactly fast it does give a good end result: https://www.svcd2dvd.com and offers good support through: http://forum.videohelp.com/svcd2dvd-general-f37.html but averages around 30 minutes for me to convert one file, or 45 minutes to join two together and output\burn a resulting dvd.

WinAvi wins in the speed stakes, at least for me.

As for your corrupt divx file, you could try runing it through: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/divfix.html as it is able to correct errors in such files.

It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.

Its ok Winavi fixed it and converted it 100% thanks again for this...It just saved me having to convert a whole 102minute disk to divx again as I now know it will convert it to DVD should I need it...
