.avi to dvd format in around 12 minutes, not including burning time: http://www.winavi.com/en/video-converter/video-converter.htm
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -

Seriously impressed...I am converting 3hours and 12 minutes worth of video thats been compressed using DIVX (got free on this board I may add) and its saying 36 minutes to completion... After the burn I will report back again with quality and any bad points...
BTW since I have been typing its gone down to 28 minutes and is 29% done
So far so good.0 -

AMDx24400 2GB or RAM, a couple of harddrives, I convert from one to another so it's not writing back to the same drive. Hardly a super computer, but it does me for the time being.
I'm using WinAvi version 7 lasttime I checked, and a single codec Divx proffesional which seems to decode everything to a reasonable quality.

58 minutes to convert 2 files 1 at 90 mins 1 at 102mins.. that includes burning..
Done on a
Athlon 2600+
1GB RAM
Windows XP SP3
Also converting from one drive to another
The forecast time was for one file.. It then went on to do the next one so it actually worked out at 53 minutes to do both which is still a lot better than I have seen.... I usually use VSO convertXtoDVD but this is much faster. ConvertX took almost double the time.. Doesnt seem to be any loss of quality even though I have the whole 3 hours on one DVD. Just as another point.. one of the files I used had an error. It happened when it was being converted from the DVD and it wouldnt play in my DIVX DVD player. And neither ConvertX or NERO would convert it back. But after checking the movie the DVD plays back no problem
Excellent find ABH .. Thanks again0 -
Just done a few more tests and its averaging around 25 mins per 100 mins to convert.. Excellent stuff and quality is excellent...0
