Dashcam legal warranty (not supplier)

Hello all
I bought a dashcam (19 months ago) and it has developed a fault. They are saying that the warranty has expired and that they would replace it for $30 plus shipping.
I think it should be replaced under warranty (I paid nearly £250) for the camera and I don't think that 19 months is a reasonable time for it to stop working. One would expect it to last for at least 5 years.
I don't want to name the company in case this is against the rules.
Do I have a legal right to request a replacement under warranty under the Consumer Rights Act?
Thank you in advance

Which rule do you think prohibits you from naming the company? Have a look at the rest of the forum! (In fact, I see we’ve been here before! https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6453978/spam-from-retailer-reporting-to-authorities )
But given the reference to “$30” you’ll need to at least clarify whether UK laws applied to the purchase?0 -
I wasn't sure if there was a rule :-)
The company is Viofo
I bought it from their UK website at https://viofouk.co.uk/ in April 2023
I'm not sure why they said $30 but I'm guessing they're basing that on their US costs or something!0 -
According to the website, they are either based or at least have an office in the UK
Holme Road Offices, Holme Road, Yaxley

Warranties and Consumer Rights are two completely separate things. A warranty isn’t a legal right and can have any terms that it wants so if the warranty has expired, there is no comeback on that. You can exercise your consumer rights however as you’ve owned the product for more than 6 months, the onus would be on you to prove it’s failed due to a manufacturing fault. You also can’t insist on a replacement even if you were able to provide the necessary proof. The trailer has one opportunity to repair or replace and they can choose the most economical option.Personally, paying the $30 (weird they’re quoting in dollars) would be much less hassle for you.1
