Trading 212 query

My OH opened a cash ISA with Trading 212 and whilst it was quick and easy to open, they are saying there is a discrepancy between his account name and linked bank account name (haven't explained what the discrepancy is) and is therefore unable to pay in the initial bank transferred fund and are asking for a bank statement to be emailed to them? I'm uncomfortable with this and wondering if this is normal practice? They don't give an alternative means of sorting out the discrepancy.

IvanOpinion said:Some possibilities
- a typo/spelling mistake
- use of a shortened version of name e.g. Bob vs Robert
- use of a variant of the name e.g. Jack vs John
- inclusion of a middle name/initial in one of the accounts but not the other
Similar happened to me a couple of years back. Resolved when I realised my long standing current account (set up in 1996) had a typo in my first name (it was never picked up because all documents, bank cards and their online site used my initials and not the full name).0
