EE Cancelling our pre-2016 Contract

We've benefitted from free EU roaming for quite a few years now because our contracts have rolled over since before Brexit. EE is cancelling this as of 17 December 2024.
Are they allowed to do this?

Very likely yes (possibly with a months notice)

Find an alternative network plan that suits you, but don't sign up yet, then request your PAC from EE. When they call to try and retain you by offering a discounted tariff similar to the alternative you found, specify that you want free EU roaming included.
Last time I did this in May, as an example, the cheapest they could offer was 12GB for £6, 12mth contract, EU roaming included.

Basically if you’re out of your minimum term, they can pretty much do what they want with 30 days notice… however as others have said, find a deal from another network and then ask EE for a PAC and see if they’ll match the deal.
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

Seconding this, I got a very similar deal 18 months ago or so.  I pay £9.xx (after the last price increase) but get more data, and the EU roaming as well.

No company is going to want to have to keep old products alive indefinitely as it is additional cost to them.

Not uncommon for them the remove them, usually they offer to roll people onto the closest matching ongoing product rather than just leave the customer with no service.
