Hello everybody, any advice would be very much appreciated, I am a pensioner and have underlying health issues. We signed up to sky and talk, the ultra fast was installed on the 4th October. Its now been over 7 weeks and our landline is still not working, all you get from Sky is its a network issue and we are looking into it, getting really fed up as my landline is important to me for emergencies, the line was ported across after about 2 weeks, Any help would be very much appreciated.

We upgraded to full fibre, requiring Open Reach to come out and do what they had to, shin up local telegraph pole, wiring through the wall and connecting to the existing landline indoors. All ok . . . until we noticed a few weeks later that the bedside landline was dead; initially my partner assumed the handset was just switched to silent but she then realised there was no dial tone. Seems this is to be expected with the Sky upgrade. It’s not the end of the world just disappointing that we no longer have a bedside landline and that no one had enquired about existing landline set-up beforehand.
Could you be in the same situation or do you have no landline connection at all?1 -
Just to confirm, you have plugged your landline into the rj45 socket at the back of your Sky router? Your familiar old wall phone socket, which they just leave behind, is now dead.
As soon as I plugged my landline into my new Sky router I had a dial tone.1 -
Yes i have the white sky max hub, and my phone is plugged directly into the rear of the hub, there is no dialing tone, if you ring the landline it just says its temporarily unavailable0
