Also possibly purchase through topcashback which has various offers on and looks like you would potentially get 20.00 cashback.

Unfortunately, that only applies to the 128GB version, but I could get £24 back by going through Uswitch.

    Buy phone outright V contract.

New phone on 24-month contract £99-00 upfront and 24 months @ £14-99 total cost £458-76p + 3.9% increase each April.

Have I missed anything, please tell me if I’m talking crap.

I think it’s CPI plus 3.9%. CPI is currently 3.2%. Not sure if that makes much difference.

  • 500GB is per month data allowance.

If you don't need that much then don't get that amount.

£29.76 for that amount of data is high. You can get a SIM only deal for unlimited data for £15 per month.

I think we have some confusion, what I am saying is if you deduct the cost of purchasing the phone out right from the 2-year contract price you are left with a figure of £29-76p I assume maybe wrongly the data is included in the monthly cost?

    Apologies, yes I did misunderstand

Apparently ID mobile prices went up by 7.9% last year mid contract.

Their SIM only deals don't have a a mid contract price rise apparently.

have a sim only with ID mobile on a one month contract £6 per month with unlimited minutes and texts and 25gb internet. Any unused internet rolls over to the next month so I usually end up with 50gb each month. There are no yearly increases with sim only plans

I've just looked on my ID mobile account and can't find any thing as good as that. The best I can see is 8GB for £6 on a month rolling contract.

Thanks for that, I can only think that deal is not available to everyone.

OP, did you buy the phone as it is available now through Carphonewarehouse but not on the ID mobile site and when I tried to purchase through CPW I received a message saying ID would not sell me that combination of phone/package but would be happy to sell me a Sim only deal instead.

I'm buying through Very instead as they do 20% off your first credit order which gets me the phone for 343 outright and I'm happy enough with switching between phone accounts every 3/6 months to stay on cheap deals.

Hi Grumpy Dil, thanks for your comment. The deal with Very sounds really good, I’ve never dealt with Very and have read some bad posts about them so am a little uneasy using them.

I can see I need to sign up if I wish to find out if I am eligible for Very pay. If I am, can I still pay the full amount in one go and still get the 20% discount or do I have to take out some sort of credit?
