Hello,

In March 2022 we had two windows installed, flush fit units with tinted glass - so expensive. Within months we noticed wind screaming through them and mould in the gaps. The company who installed them had now ceased trading. We have the manufacturer guarantee paperwork, we contacted them, they sent an engineer out, he said there were some adjustments to be made which he did on one window, this did not fix the issues and he put something completely different to what he said to me compared to on his report. The manufacturer are saying it is a fitting issue.

We employed an independent window company to come and assess the windows, they did a report that said it is not a fitting issue and the windows themselves are faulty and if we actioned the changes that the manufacturer has put in their email the windows will be bowed and fail. The manufacturing company are still refusing to help. They have said their warantee has ended because the company who fitted are no longer trading.

I went to the ombudsman and the QANW at the ombudsmans advise, the QANW won't process the claim because we don't have our contract despite giving them the receipt, manufacturers guarantee and the fensa certificate.

The windows are so bad you can see the keeps from outside, the hinges are rusting inside the windows, wind screams through, they are constantly mouldy and i have a child with asthmatic, hypermobile which is affected by the cold so he gets a lot of pain and is neurodiverse and gets poorly all the time, one of these windows is in his room hence my desperation! We are unable to afford their replacement at this current time and i honestly can't believe we seem to have no rights with something so important and expensive which is quite clearly faulty!

Thank you to anyone in advance who is able to help.

If you've got a report confirming that it's a manufacturing fault, can't you enforce the warranty against the manufacturers? Depends on the terms of the warranty (which we can't read from here...).
