Glad the lounge flooring is done.

    Thanks TG, Blackcats and Jwil

I like my new floor.  I used leftover laminate to hide where the skirting boards need replacing.  I may use this as a low sensory room by keeping it very minimal. They put a door bar dividing the hall from the utility area and it looks much better. I need to choose some skirting board and get it delivered and find a joiner.

DD and her BF came but had an injury so were unable to help. Hoping they recover and are able to help tomorrow. Luckily the floor fitters brought my sofa through into the lounge which was the heaviest thing.

    Thanks Skint.

I am overwhelmed. 9 day guests Saturday including 2 overnight. My pace at returning rooms to order is glacial! I have tomorrow off. Hoping I find my get up and go soon.

On top of that the latest scan results for a relative were poor.

In better news I have sent £500 to the shortest date 0% CC. However, I added £320 for the remaining floor bill to a CC. I returned about £110 of stuff to Am yesterday. I'm owed about £72 in Xmas gifts purchased on behalf of others.

Tomorrow I get paid including more back pay than I expected. I will be able to pay the £1k+ asbestos bill then in cash partly due to earlier use of CCs for other stuff. Later in December I will need to pay around another £450 to CCs I reckon. I am due to send at least £50 to savings. £1k will also go into AVC pension from pay.

I hope to switch back to current account use from tomorrow. I still need to move my isa £.

Well done on all the progress with the house, it sounds like you've completed some major improvements.  Hope you can have some recharge time over the weekend - I'd definitely need some quiet time if I had 9 people round to mine.

Thanks Skint. Long way still to go.

DD'S BF came and put up my kitchen wall cupboard up. I finally have a crockery and glassware cupboard. That frees up some counter space.

Done 2 lots of washing today. Got rug moved to back room and rearranged it. Done at least 30 other things. A lot left to do. Definitely too slow!!

I know you say that there is still a lot to do, but it sounds like your motivation is starting to engage … 😊
Remember, it doesn’t matter if everything isn’t perfect from your perspective. You haven’t been there that long and people will be coming to see you and the house changes you have executed. Levels of tidiness are a side aspect for them 😊

That doesn't sound too slow to me, sounds like progress has been made.

  • Echoing everyone else - you’ve done loads, people love oohing and ahhing over changes to a new house and don’t expect perfection in the midst of major works, and 9 guests is a LOT! Take care of yourself and try to get some rest afterwards instead of giving yourself a punishing schedule to get things back to normal.
