I definitely don't dress like my dad. To my knowledge he never owned a pair of jeans and never once wore shorts. He used to go to the beach in trousers and collar necked shirt with his sleeves rolled up, the same when he did the gardening, bless him. I did see him in a t shirt on a couple of occasions, but very rarely.
I on the other hand are in shorts and t shirts from May to October. Winter mths it's jeans for me.It's just my opinion and not advice.0 -

My Dad always had a shirt and smart trousers on when we went to the beach, along with his flat cap which he always wore as he hated the fact he was bald. The most adventurous he got was occasionally wearing a pair of sandals (but with his socks on, of course).0

I have turned into my mum by quoting the same phrase she used over and over, whenever totally frustrated by useless "assistants": "I don't know how half of them get their jobs!" - Usually accompanied by sadly shaking her head in disbelief.
May I also quote this, and sorry, but I've no idea who to attribute it to, but I love it:
"I don't really mind growing older, but my body sure is taking it hard."
Nothing truer.0 -
At age 68, I am very similar to my father in most respects.
I could not be more different from my mother. She is an extreme extrovert and characteristically almost clinically impatient. She wore flamboyant colours well into her dementia. She practised "guilt-tripping" her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. "Why," she said, "are all of my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren introverts?" She often said that "introversion is unnatural, a sickness."I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0
