I tend to go for a sort of smart casual look, probably because I had picked up this type of dress sense at work before I retired. Even on a zoom call it was not the done thing to look too casual, although ties had largely gone out of the window a few years ago.
To be fair it is more casual than smart since I retired, but I nearly always wear a shirt of some kind.
Also I never wear trainers.
My Dad and FIL were quite old fashioned and both wore a shirt and tie, with trousers and proper shoes, so I do not look like them1 -
I think parent is regressing and turning into me.
She just bought her first pair of jeans aged 85.She’s always had this thing about “mutton dressed as lamb” and I just keep telling her, who cares? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.5 -
Glad to hear we're all, or nearly all, avoiding the slacks and jumpers aisles at M&S!!!1

Nothing wrong with Jumpers, mine however are nearly all birthday and Christmas presents from the MIL, she is quite good at it however !. Cant remember the last time I purchased a jumper for myself, think it may have been a tank top circa 19750

I think it unlikely I'll turn into my mother fashion-wise (or lack of), I just hope I don't get as irritable and unreasonable as she could be!
Although I still SAY many of the things both she and Dad used to say. "Don't do as I do, do as I tell you" was one ...Signature removed for peace of mind2 -
As a teacher I always end up using the same sayings as my teachers did.
I never tire of them. The kids however......0
