car insurance quote lead time
My new car comes in 4 weeks and trying to save a few quid on car insurance it always pays to search early and pay in advance. i am seeing quotes vary by hundreds if you try to get a quote for a car to be insured quickly. I am happy with the quotes for insuring in 4 weeks time, but it wont let me purchase due to the new car having no registration yet. Another great example of insurance companies ripping the customers off!

how do you expect them to insure a car which has no registration?
save the quote and update the registration when the dealer provides it.
there is no conspiracy to rip customers off0 -

How do you know it will not be cheaper in 4 weeks.
Also are you 100% sure car will be ready in 4 weeks? A few days delay & you are slap bang in the middle of Christmas & New Year & all the delays that entails..

I presume you won't be happy for them to register it in the dealership name, then you're the second keeper, taking delivery a month after registration with a month of warranty expired...?0 -

So it comes down to either wait & pay in Dec, or get it reged now & be able to ins it now?
TBH, the whole it's cheaper at X days is it true? Do you honestly think that ins co's knowing this, would let people get something cheaper, when they could simply up the price & make more profit?

It’s not just about accidents. If you leave it to last minute any company can hold you to ransom over the price. Especially when it’s something you have to buy1
