Car Insurance Validation department.

After 18 months Churchill has now asked for proof of purchase of the vehicle and copy of log book. My question is why did they not ask for these documents when I initially took out the policy. Churchill's response was that we randomly pick policies and ask to validate car insurance details. I am not going to comply to their request and will just cancel it and look for another car insurance provider.

Because validating documents takes time and costs money, so either you go down the path of some other suppliers and validate everyone with additional premiums and fees on anyone that is out at all from the data they give or you do random sampling and build in a margin of error for those that guesstimate rather than make the effort to ensure they are providing exactly the right date. 

Given how many complain on here about getting an extra £150 bill because they were 3 weeks out on when they purchased the car most appear to prefer the Churchill method
