Long story short, we ordered a DFS sofa last year which broke very soon and thereafter the fabric extremely became tatty. DFS eventually agreed it was faulty and refunded all the monies paid under the credit agreement. We then ordered another sofa(s) which was delivered last month. Again, these were poorly finished and we returned, in person, to the selling store on the delivery day to reject the furniture (I followed up doing this in email as well so documented). DFS insisted there was nothing wrong with the sofas, Then, on Friday, after lots of calls and emails, they finally admitted that the finish and quality was not up to standard. We told them, ok, lets try again and order another sofa(s) which they can deliver when the collect the current one. Had a call today from the Store Manager telling us we could no longer order from DFS. We asked him who had made that decision and it seems he took this decision unilaterally. Where doe we stand on this? All we have done is return faulty products and now DFS refuse to take any future orders from us. You might say going in for a third time is foolish but whether we do or not I would like an opinion on the fairness/legality of this "ban". Thanks in advance.

I see no law that forces a retailer to deal with a buyer they don't wish to deal with. They have lost a lot of money on the last 2 orders, why would you or they want to go with a third.
It seems perfectly reasonable to me.4 -
The store doesn't want to do business with you, I don't see an issue with it .. in the same way you do not need to buy form them ..
I'd stop worrying and move on .. you have had 2 sofa from them you haven't been happy with .. I wouldn't bother going back for a third ..

Would echo the above after 2 bad experience's. Why go back again. Plenty of other sofa stores.
But Yes, every retailer has the right to serve who they want.Life in the slow lane4 -
Thanks for the comments, got my back up a bit more than anything else, also the communication has been poor and when forthcoming quite rude and misleading0

Good business sense imho
Why would they want a repeat of this over and over.

There's nothing you can do about it. They can do, and refuse to do, business with whomever they choose.1 -
When looking at alternatives, remember that Sofology are just a brand name of DFS.1

Sounds like they are doing you a favour OP.
One of those companies where have a load of stores and a known name is enough to carry a business selling a load of rubbish (IMHO).In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces2 -

Bit of a harsh statement. I've always purchased from DFS and never had any issues. Guessing the same will apply to the majority otherwise they wouldn't still be going.
