Mobile phone DSR line rental

Hi, I’ve recently returned two mobile phones I’d ordered online from IDMobile under DSR. The boxes were not opened and the return was accepted and completed without issue.
However, I’ve now had a text message approximately 2 months later from a debt collection agency, stating I owe them £12 that IDMobile claim they have been unable to recover from me. They’ve made no attempt to contact me about this, and as far as I was aware, I have no obligation to pay any line rental at all, if I haven’t used the product, or opened the box and the return was carried out as per procedure and accepted by them.
Can anyone confirm this?
I’ve called IDMobile and logged a complaint, but the extremely rude adviser argued with me that the line rental is correct and is definitely NOT covered by DSR. I used to work in telesales for a mobile phone company, and I’m certain she’s wrong.

DSR ended in June 2014 and was replaced by the CPR
What sort of contract did you have for the line rental? This is charge is presumably for the line rental for the time the contract was active, you can be charged for services provided during a cooling off period even if you choose not to use the services2 -
Thanks for the reply and info. It was a 2 year contract, but I triggered the return before I had even received the delivery, as my existing network gave me a better deal. I can’t see how they can charge line rental for something I haven’t used?0
