Vanquis Savings Account

  • I've asked - waiting for response. They said it might be because I was depositing it as "personal" payment - so changed to "business" - still returned. I see they are no longer listed on the MSE "best savings account" list.

Probably more to do with the fact that they have dropped their interest rate in the last few days.
  • Paying in from TSB account - no error messages  - payment goes - two/three days later it's back in TSB account. Nothing from Vanquis to say why it's been declines.

Did you get acknowledgement that your nominated account has been authenticated? Can you see it when you log in to Vanquis? Is the reference on the payment correct i.e. your account number?
  • Yes - it's authenticated and acknowledged. Yes the ref is my Acc No. Guess they just don't want my money.

If its a Notice account the min deposit is £1000, anything less will be returned.

When I use Vanquis I have a generic account number/sort code, so I have to include the correct reference to link to my specific account (13 letters/digits)
  • had the same problem, and had to wait 4 days, excluding weekend... but the money did appear on vanquis!
  • I've had exactly the same experience. Like another poster a couple of months ago I sent a lesser amount than the required £1,000 just to check details were correct. That was returned, but it took several days.

Last Thursday I transferred the required minimum. Left it until Monday morning to confirm it is in my account, but the balance remains at 0. Checked my source account and the £1k was returned on Friday. However, there has been no other communication from Vanquis to explain why. From start to finish I have found the account setup process to be laborious and response times not acceptable. I think it's time to look elsewhere too.
