Filled out new claim for UC and now they'll need to contact me??

Hi.
I'm kind of confused why they'd need to get in touch after filling the online form re. low income.
I'm sure I've submitted all the necessary info they need.
Would the phone call ask me to come down for a full-blown interview?
And just to add, the amount I'd approximately get (using one of the benefit calculators) would be just under £13 a week.
Thanks.

Thanks guys.
And according to this link https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/universal-credit/claiming/going-to-your-interview/ it seems there'll be a face to face interview with a work coach for all new claimants?!
Why would that be when I'm already working (albeit part-time)?
I'm just thinking if it's really worth all the hassle to be honest.

It's called protecting the tax payers money and hoping people don't bother to continue.1

The initial meeting is usually with a Work Coach as they are the frontline staff that deal with UC claimants in the JobCentre.

Thanks. So presumably I'll have to start attending the Job Centre on a regular basis looking for work whilst I'm already in work??0

It will depend on how much you are earning.Conrad3000 said:Thanks. So presumably I'll have to start attending the Job Centre on a regular basis looking for work whilst I'm already in work??0 -
If that's the case, then I think I may not bother claiming.TheShape said:

Thankfully I will be able to survive without the extra £12-13 a week that I'm eligible for.
It's just not worth going through it all (continuously) for that particular amount.0 -
May be back in the 80’s. These days yes you are expected to seek either a number of hours paid (NMW) or an amount. The key is seek, in which you can search online. If your offered a job then yes your expected to take it.Conrad3000 said:Thanks. Thanks Pete.
Well I've just cancelled my claim. It got rather daunting for the small amount I mentioned earlier.
I was due an interview this Thursday but I'm sure they'll know I've decided not to go ahead with it.
Btw, if someone's offered an interview or job, will the Job Centre be notified?0
