Music Magpie

Good Morning,

Two weeks ago, I sold a product to Music Magpie, which has been confirmed as signed for and delivered. I understand that processing typically takes seven days. However, after contacting them, I was informed that the item has been misplaced.

Although I no longer have the physical Post Office receipt, I’ve provided all relevant tracking information, screenshots, and the delivery confirmation signature. Unfortunately, they’ve stated this is insufficient.

Could someone please assist me in resolving this issue?

What do you need assistance with? If you have sent the tracking information and screenshots proving delivery and they accept the item has been misplaced, I don't see the relevance of the post office receipt. You should be afforded the benefit of the doubt as to the price they offered you based on the condition described.

That's the price they have to pay for misplacing the item and whilst they can insist on a Post Office proof of postage receipt, that doesn't absolve them of liability to you. Seems like your options are limited, either continue going back and forth and complaining but potentially getting nowhere or, you could consider legal proceedings starting with a letter before action. If neither of those options appeal to you, then you might as well write it off.

If you took photos of the item before packaging then you could perhaps use that as evidence of its condition to pursue the value offered.

Next time I suggest you keep the receipt until the transaction has completed or at least take a photo of it using your phone so there is a digital image.

Tracking and delivery could be for any parcel.

The PO receipt will show the weight of the parcel and that the tracking number relates to that parcel.

The weight could  help to confirm what was likely to be in the parcel.

But that doesn’t show what was on the parcel.

But it doesn't prove what was stated to MM was actually inside the parcel though so it isn't any more proof than what the OP already has. Fortunately civil claims are based on a balance of probability so you do not need evidence beyond reasonable doubt or the other side to capitulate in order to win.

The paper trail evidence of starting the process on the website together with the tracking information and the statement from MM suggesting it has been misplaced is likely to be enough for the court to give the OP the benefit of the doubt, unless MM can somehow show the OP has been dishonest.

We sincerely apologize for the trouble this has caused.

To proceed with filing a claim for the missing item, could you please provide the necessary information? Without this information, we won't be able
Please note you have 28 days to file a claim from the day the day the order was sent to us, after 28 days the claim will be rejected/declined.

    This is their reply 🤦🏻‍♂️
