Morning All
Oh taff, I hope you can get seen today, look after yourself and slow down!
After a glorious day yesterday it's drizzly and miserable this morning but the upside is it's Friday! DS2 and his DP left last night for the sleeper to London, they will probably just be arriving now. Seems strange to be on my own again this morning but I can have the radio on upstairs which I have been missing in the mornings.
Lots of washing to get through, I had a clean towel yesterday but it got mixed up with the others so they all went in the wash, also the bedding from their bed but that can wait until there's better weather and I can get it out for a while - hopefully tomorrow.
Children in Need day at school, there are Pudsey cookies on sale but sadly none for the little one as she's vegan - the kitchen staff who made them said she had to bring her own! Anyway I've made some that DS and DP helped to decorate so there's enough for the whole class.
Can't wait to get home this afternoon and slob about, an early night is on the cards.
Glad your Rayburn is up and running Mehefin.
Stay sane with the house move Coxy.
Hope you've recovered from your horrible day Allie.
Very cheeky of Rob's Mum Ruby, hope she pays you soon.
Take care. XX10 -
Hi all
Another misty murky start here.
Taff - Hope you feel better soon and can get some answers from your phone calls. Thanks to all the well wishers after my rubbish Wednesday. Thursday wasn’t as stressful as I spent all day in the waiting area at the garage. Took them ages to diagnose the ‘probable’ fault, a couple of hours to fix it then they found as something else when they did the test drive 🙄 - then I was in rush hour traffic and I no longer enjoy driving in the dark - plus it was lots of £££ 😞. I just hope it’s now fixed. I had a company car for 16 years and got used to no bills apart from personal fuel so it takes some getting used to having a vehicle that’s starting to need work. Anyway I hope that today will consist of dog walking and craft work though I do have to pop and do my blood donor good deed this might be my 60th, I’ve lost count.Happy Friday

Good morning, seems to be another fine day as far as I can tell.
Hope you'll soon feel better Taff.
Meeting a friend at Do*bies this morning and was planning to go on to the Metro Centre when I left there, but I'll see how I feel - it's been a bad week for not sleeping and I'm permanently tired.
We went to Beamish Museum yesterday and had a nice few hours, it was busy there. We went into the cafe for a cup of tea and I noticed that the lunches being served were big portions, massive dumplings with chicken casserole was one. They smelled lovely, but we had already had a portion of chips each from the traditional fish and chip shop there. They were nice as well, fried in beef dripping.( I know, very unhealthy!)
We'll pop-up again nearer Christmas. They had started Christmas decorations I noticed. It's a great place and just a short drive for us.
Hope everyone has a good day, and that the poorly people soon feel better.
Take care folks.12 -
Morning all, thanks for the start @Taff but
for all that work! Please take things at least a little more easy, please. As for 'sadmin' I can't claim any credit even though it is a genius bit of portmanteau.
My pool session was so good yesterday, I felt so refreshed and virtuous after it. Mind you I reverted to type after it and slobbed around a little too much.Today I'm climbing aboard my trusty Citylink coach back to Glasgow. I'm seeing Frank Skinner at the theatre tonight, it's been booked for age, I'm so looking forward to it. Last night my English nephew suggested a show here for next March, I hopped on the case immediately and got us booked.@Camelot - how rude of the kitchen staff and how lovely of you to make enough for the whole class. Enjoy the mayhem.@AA - congratulations on the blood donor milestone.@Scarlet - ah, memories of Beamish are more happy than memories of the Metrocentre leading up to Christmas. As for the chips, they sound perfect. Much tastier than oil-fried, think it's OK once in a while.Well, it's still very misty and grey, I can't see the hills in front of me, again makes me think about Brigadoon. I hope that everyone has a good day despite the weather.9 -
Morning everyone Taff great news about the range but please take it easy that wasn’t a little bit of work you should be sitting with your feet up . Scarlet the fish shop I worked in until a few years ago used beef dripping lovely I went backwards with my sleep last night I didn’t wake up at three it was after three when I got to sleep then back awake at six no rhyme or reason. I’m off to do my volunteering at the food waste soon it’s cold but as long as it stays dry for unloading the van . Coxy hang on in I don’t envy you I’ve said I will never move house again Gers enjoy frank skinner tonight I can’t think of the last time I seen him on tv it seem to see be same people over again Camelot enjoy the mayhem . Silver oldie I hope you are feeling a bit better today it’s easy for me to say but one day at a time . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning all from misty Mehefinland
Gers - thanks for the links for venison recipes - I shall investigate with interest. Brigadoon- well that's a blast from the past - more likely to find a soggy Welsh sheep than a bonnie lassie today! Still makes me think of the line in the Waterboys "Whole of the Moon"....I won't go there today,..promise.
Don't know what to do with Scooby and putting a rug on her. The weather has been ok, a little chilly on occasions but she has grown a thickish winter coat. It's ok whilst it remains dry but as she is an old lady I think she will feel the cold when it turns later on this week/month, and particularly when it gets wetter. The problem is the scabs on her tummy which she kicks at occasionally if they are itchy or the midges are biting. I don't want her getting her foot caught in the straps of the rug ( she did it in the spring and completely wrecked a rug) as the risks of damage to her and/or the rug are significant. Will have a try out in the stable and see where the straps lie - that is probably the only way forward other than doing without. Quite a quandary!
The other two can get on with it for now - although the boy is pretty thin skinned so may need some protection too.
Rayburn is pumping out lots of lovely warmth into the kitchen - its no longer a mad dash to do what was necessary and rush out again. It may not be the most MSE but I saved loads of £££s by doing the repair myself.
Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin

Morning all
Its a bit dull and overcast here but we are promised some sun later, I am off to have my nails done this morning and then I have treated myself to a Japanese head spa it’s a new thing my nail lady is doing I can’t wait it’s meant to be very relaxing and it cleans your scalp at the same time, a facial is included too so I will feel like a new woman after 😃
I need to pop to the shop on the way back and get some fire lighters then I intend to come home light the fire and relax. Not sure about dinner tonight but will go and look in the freezer after this.
Dd is off today so it will be nice to spend some time with her, we are off to Barcelona for a few days soon for her Birthday so I hope the flooding / rain clears up by then.
Yorks lass I am so sorry to hear your bad news xxx
Camelot well done on making the biscuits for little one that’s a bit mean of the kitchen staff not to make some it would only have taken 1/2 hour 🙄
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all,
I caught the bus to work this morning as first removal truck is arriving between 8am-8.30am. I boxed up some more kitchen stuff last night and also boxes of photos, and some large pictures. DH went out with his pub mates for a meal/drinks so I could quietly get on and do stuff. Still more to do over the weekend but I’m happy that we are almost there.
Sorry to hear of your lack of sleep @-taff and annoying that you are having to chase for some medical support. I dread to think what might happen if the pharmacists decide to cut their services as UCC/A&E are already over run.
Annoying about the car expenses @AlwaysAllie. Make the most of the tuck and strong squash after the donation today – it’s what I look forward to the most lol
Beamish is on my list for when we are semi-retired @ScarlettRibbons. Those chips sound devine J
Enjoy Frank Skinner @Gers. I heard him on the Today podcast a few weeks ago – seems like such a nice bloke.
Now have the Waterboys as an ear worm @mehefin which has got to be better than the office radio which is on back to back Christmas tunes………
Enjoy the pamper @RedRuby1231 x
Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone
Just a quickie from me as I have to go down to mam and dads before work to do dads banking.
I'm picking little one up from school this afternoon, then she's coming home with me for a sleepover. DD is helping a friend who is moving house. Little one has managed 4 full days at school this week - she missed Wednesday as she had a bad cough and needed steroids which cause mayhem with her blood sugars. I saw her doing PE yesterday afternoon and she looked very happy.
Camelot - that's a bit mean, they should adapt their recipe and make them all vegan, or at least provide some for little one. Good on you for making enough for her class.
Scarlet Ribbons - I love Beamish , it must be lovely to live close enough to visit often .
Right better get a shift on, hope everyone has a good day x
