Greener Days EV Charging Octopoints

been charging our EV overnight on 🐙 ‘Greener Days Forecast’ for the last couple of months and today got our email from 🐙 saying we had charged 4 week long streak on greener days so received 80 octopoints - which equate to 10p - obviously aren’t doing it for the money 🤣 but it’s good knowing we are charging when the grid is the greenest.
just wondering if anyone else on here has had their greener days email from 🐙 today? - by my records we have actually done 8 weeks of greener days charging in a row so I didn’t know if they are usually a couple months behind?

Started doing it mid September, still not received anything.
So gone back to charging during day & getting the benefit of whole house @ 7p.
Got to be more MSE 😶🌫️Life in the slow lane0 -
That sounds good @born_again - how are you getting 7p per kWh during the day?Lancashire

Intelligent Octopus tariff.
If you charge car during day & get slots allocated within peak period, you only pay off peak rate 7p for usage.
Get slots every time I want to charge during daytime.Life in the slow lane0 -
I’m on IO as well - sadly EV is elsewhere during the day but we do load shift pretty much everything to 11:30pm-5:30amLancashire

As sad as it sounds if you charge it during red days at 18-19 you'll get more points during winter session for not charging at that time.1

Have been charging on Greener Days, but Octopus seems a bit random on whether it recognises this. I generally charge to a higher percentage on very green days and avoid the not-so-green days. This isn't easy with a small battery though.

so when you get day time slots you can use the cheaper rate for everything in the house? I was concerned to do that if we only got the cheaper rate for the EV usage. Sorry I know this is a naive question probably 😊Lancashire

Thank you - Another question @born_again - if you are given a time slot and the EV completes its charge prior to end of time slot - would household use still be charged at the lower rate?Lancashire
