Rent main residence and live in annexe?

Hi all - just wondered if anyone has been in this situation or knows anything about it; I'm struggling to find any information about this specific scenario!

I own a 4-bedroom house with a separate annexe (detached, own entrance). The annexe has never been used apart from having family and friends stay.

Husband and I are considering moving into the annexe and renting out our main residence part-time (like Airbnb) - is this ok to do without having to get into any council shenanigans?

Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

do you have anything in writing which limits occupation of the annex to family?
in other words has the council been made aware of the existent of the annex and made a determination as to its council tax status as either a cohesive single dwelling or one with an annex upon which conditions have been imposed?

i note you carefully state that you would occupy the annex and the paying guests would occupy the main part of the property. As such you are effectively running a guest house and would need to comply with the legal requirements for doing so (health and safety rules etc) , but I doubt a change in council tax status would arise from that as the annex is not the one being let.
