The REAL reason why Morrisons shelves are always empty

My OH has shopped in Morrisons for years and since Covid the stores have been empty - regularly totally out of staples such as bread, milk etc
She discovered the real reason today - not a lack of supplies but a lack of staff to actually fill the shelves overnight !
The food is IN store "out back" - its been delivered but just not on the shelves !!

Who supplied that information because it isn't correct. It may be that your local store has that problem but it isn't a common thing. They need the money not goods like bread and milk sitting out the back going out of date. they are the first things which would be replenished. Short date and fast selling goods take priority. Very few customers will go in the store and leave without milk or bread so they are not going to leave it in thee back and replenish other items first.
Bread and milk are replenished at regular intervals all day so its not about the night staff.3 -
They will not care, but shop elsewhere and tell them why.

I have not noticed a problem at the Morrisons I have visited, though obviously their own bread tends to run out towards the end of the day0

When you say 'their own bread' I assume you mean in store bakery? If so it is all made off site, frozen and then finished on site. They won't overstock on cooked loaves in store as it doesn't have a long shelf life.0

Totally false
maybe try finding better sources
It “might” be accurate for YOUR location but not for anyone else0 -
bread and milk arrive first thing in the morning, the night staff do not restock these items.0

This has highlighted a increasing trend of spuriously naming companies in the title of the thread, is there some guidelines on this.2

Not noticed any issues at the Morrisons near me.
Come on you Irons0 -
Not an issue in my local Morrisons.0

We don’t have Morrisons nearby, but I have noticed a drastic shortage in our local co-op recently. There was cola and cheese randomly and sparsely filling empty fridge shelves. The front display shelves/ end of aisles were completely empty as was the heated cabinet. Not a shortage of staples, but something is untoward.0
