Suggestions for Presents for 8 year old girl .. crafting related
Our granddaughter will be 8 just after Christmas and we are trying to find suitable 'craft-related' presents for her.
A friend has a young boy and it seems LEGO, Airfix make some great gifts for wee boys, but not so much for wee girls.
I've suggested going to 'The Works' which I think offers craft items, but was wondering if anybody here has any other ideas
thanks !

Lego and Meccano are asexual I believe and should be supplied to girls equally as much as boys. Ditto Science experiment kits and suchlike. We need more female builders and engineers.
B&M, Home Bargains, The Range and Hobbycraft have tonnes of stuff for crafting as well as The Works. Our grandson was much into drawing and painting / crafting supplies at that age.4 -
Website ‘Wicked Uncle’ has some excellent ideas for crafty things for girls (and boys). Very well received by my 7 3/4 granddaughter!I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Competition Time, Site Feedback and Marriage, Relationships and Families boards. The Works do some lovely simple Crafting books for children and you could maybe buy some materials to try what is in the book.
It also depends what you want to spend (crafting items can be quite expensive) and also what your granddaughter is interested in - sewing, drawing etc.
Some "off the wall" suggestions could be polymer clay, resin crafts and badge making etc. Look at the books mentioned to get some ideas.
Hope this helps!

Hobbycraft have black friday sales and 3 for 2 across many areas, their pages for kids gifts look good. Im also a fan of their 'blanks' for creating your own thing with a base item. I was an arty girl and I loved nothing more than giant sets of pens or pencils! https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/kids/0
