EU Roaming, Lebara vs RWG
Just a data point for those interested in EU roaming. I've spent 2 months in France, Spain and Italy with a dual SIM phone, one Lebara, one RWG SIM. The good news is that basically both worked well in all locations I used them. However, there were some interesting differences. The RWG SIM was using 5G most of the time, while the Lebara SIM (same location of course) was more often than not using 4G. Without having done any scientific measurements, I can say that RWG also felt faster. The Lebara SIM also often took longer to connect though that wasn't a big deal.
The other big difference was that RWG gave me true roaming as in the old days. All calls between France, Spain or Italy and any other EU country (or of course within those countries) worked and came out of my normal allowance. With Lebara, OTOH, calls within the local EU country (say France) and between the local country and the UK came from the normal allowance, whereas calls between countries (ie France to Spain or to Germany) came out of the (in my case 100) international minutes. In the first month that was not enough for the calls I needed to make, so I was glad I had the RWG SIM.
One problem is that RWG's customer service is barely existent. I had no need for that on this trip but on another trip my wife had big trouble with her RWG SIM and no resolution was found while abroad. Also, we've found no way at all to check actual usage with RWG as the usual 669 is not available abroad.
YMMV.
