Best way for Email Forwarding - Domain, Second Gmail account or something else? Please

I still have a very old GMX account where I haven't logged in on the web for at least 4 or 5 years. But it still receives the odd message and so it's regularly checked by my email clients, both desktop and Android. Never had any problems.

@ih8stress You do realise that you do have to trust DDG anyway, at least up to a point, if you use them as mail forwarders? Also, after the initial setup I go there perhaps once or twice a year, so if I had security concerns I 'd simply disable or remove the extension and enable/reinstall as needed. In my case I have their browser preinstalled on one of my Android devices so no need for the extension.

Oh, my gmx account was not checked by an email client. Perhaps that would explain it... however my mail.co.uk account was actually checked by an email client regularly and it was closed anyway.
