Can I really unlock my phone for free ?

You may laugh but I have an Alcatel Pixi 4 phone because I hardly ever use it and only keep it because I have to get some texts occasionally and for emergency use, it's worth zero so can I unlock the network for free or else it would be cheaper to just get another phone.

Yes, it has been illegal for networks to charge to unlock phone for years now.

What network is it on?

Although that phone does not support 4G calling, only data so will become pretty useless as the 3G networks get switched off. So may be worth replacing anyway.

I thought the phone manufacturer unlocked it , but it's the network provider , I know nothing about tech 🤣

I just have to call O2.
