CAME Gate Automation ..ticking Sound!

My gate control is making noise when the gate opens, and I haven’t serviced it in the last four years! I’m wondering if servicing the gate control is something I can do myself. If so, I’d appreciate any tips from anyone who has done this as a DIY project. I assume some grease or lubrication is needed for the moving parts, which I suspect are causing the noise. 2 parts of Gate opens and motor seems to be inside this pit. Thanks

When you asked CAME what did they tell you, please??

It looks like you could lift that plate out without dismantling the gate. So, I would just do that and have a peek inside. I can’t imagine that it would be a bad idea to grease the moving parts.

There will undoubtedly be a maintenance schedule and instructions for these openers. I'd imagine quite straight-forward, too.You may need some specialist tools:0

I found a lot of mud inside the motor box and need to find a tool to help me remove it. Initially, I thought the motor was meant to be in the mud, but when I opened the second one, I realized I could see the white bottom part of the box. So, I need to remove all the mud using a suitable tool. Looks like next Saturday is reserved for that job!

I also noticed a large hole in the rubber collar, which I assume is meant to prevent mud from sliding into the box. Thtat box had more mud than the other. I’ll need to check if a replacement collar is available for purchase. Thanks!

Which hole do you mean? The one the turning shaft comes through, or is that an actual hole beside it? If so, what's it for?!
Do you have a Henry or similar? That should do a good job of removing all the debris.
