Currys price match pre-purchase, how to make it work

Not sure if it will work in any situation, but I managed to get my price match done.

TL,DR: go to point 6

1) Some background: I was shopping for a new TV and went to curries because I have some discounted vouchers I get through my work.
2) I chose a TV I seemed to like and it was available for collection at my shop, so saving me £20 for delivery.
3) I noticed that the same TV was available elsewhere much more cheaply (£90 to be exact), so I asked for a price pre-purchase price match.
These are theirs T&C:

Price match terms & conditions

• We'll match the prices of in-stock products before you buy or up to 7 days after.

• We do not match ink products, Sky Glass, delivery charges, installation charges, product protection plans, mobile airtime plans or other services.

• The lower price item must be offered on identical terms (including the same make, size, colour, specification and model number) and we must be able to check the price, stock position and, where relevant, your eligibility to purchase from the competitor.

• We'll match against any other UK retailer store or website price including offer-code discounts. This does not include any exclusive prices/codes (e.g. staff, student, NHS staff blue light) or trade prices, prices only available as part of paid for membership/subscription, any loyalty scheme or reward scheme, 3rd party marketplace seller prices or obvious pricing errors.

• Both us and the competitor must have the product in stock and ready for delivery.

• Where a product is not available online for us to verify price and availability, you will need to provide the competitor contact details, a photo showing the model/model number, that there is stock available, the date/time and the price.

• We reserve the right to refuse a price match where we suspect fraud or unauthorised reseller activity.

4) After that I went to their chat (you are redirected to India), but I was denied the price match 4 times. The first two because 

I am sorry to inform you that Currys are currently unable to offer a Price match with selected retailer, as we are unable to verify that they are a genuine UK retailer. This decision has been made by the company following a full review of their website and independent reviews online.

(!!!!!!??? I thought I had chosen a spam site, but instead it is a legitimate store with a physical outlet not far from where I live)

and the second two because:

THT Direct uses its own vehicles, and delivers to certain postcodes within Scotland.

but they were unable to point out where it said on they T&C. In all these cases I was offered a code for a DIFFERENT and not as good price match.

5) I now decided to lodge a complaint which is not easy at all to do as on their website there isn't a clear link, but they only give you access to the general chat. In the end I found a phone number: 0344 5611234, Option 4 in case someone else needs it - again you speak to people in India. Anyway, speaking to that woman I was told that...

6) in order to claim a PRE-purchase price match you must go on the website and use their "Shop Live" facility (just type it in the search bar), and in fact this time it worked no problems. You get through someone working at a store and you complete the purchase with them. No issues at all.

7) Now that i have my TV I will keep searching in case I find it cheaper still...

PS

8) NEVER buy in store, but always online as you will find very difficult to return stuff you buy in store.

Last time I bought from Currys online, they sent me an older version of the item, which I returned; they then sent me a replacement, which was again the older version, so I returned that too; it took several weeks for them to refund my money.

I think I would be inclined to shop elsewhere even if my work did give me Currys vouchers.

Never had any issues buying from currys, not with a few faulty products in the past. Guessing it must be the same for the majority otherwise they wouldn't still be going.

I have just been refused a price match on ebay because "marketplace" and ebay don't sell direct.

It transpired that i could return it because bought online (who would have known...), and I still had the vouchers to use.
Had I realized that different sellers give you a free warranty I would have done things differently from the start, but now I was committed anyway.
