Phone with good camera

If you had £400ish to spend on a phone and one of the top considerations, was it must have a quality/versatile camera, what would you go for and why. Any help appreciated.

I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

    I reckon the Pixel 8 will be below that maximum price in the Black Friday sales. It's already available new on ebay from a UK seller for £360 (and £325 with a code).
  • For photos or video?

    iPhones are very good for video but their photos are getting more and more processed when using the default app.

    Very happy with the camera on my Pixel 7a (which beat many much pricier phones in a large-scale blind test earlier this year)

    The best you could afford from the Google Pixel range, some good deals on them at the moment and may get better for Black Friday.

    If the intention is to keep it for a few years, then it is best to find one with a good few years of Android version and security updates. Limits you mainly to Pixel and some Samsung phones really at the moment.
