Issue transferring out of Post Office ISA

I'm now on my third refusal by Post Office Savings to transfer my ISA funds to Zopa, first off they said it was subject to a fixed term agreement (it wasn't, it is in the Instant Access pot), then they claimed Zopa had refused the transfer and now they are saying that they can't transfer electronically to Zopa.

Has anyone else had issues getting their money back out of the Post Office ISA, it's a large enough sum that I can't afford to withdraw and lose the tax free status and is now causing me to lose money as the interest rate is lower than Zopa's.

Does anyone have any other suggestions please?  Maybe trying to transfer elsewhere first?

Many thanks

Does your NI number begin with NJ or TJ- if so Zopa cannot transfer your ISA at present due to an issue with their transfer system:

    From Zopa’s website:

PayUK, a third party we use to facilitate ISA transfers, is currently experiencing issues validating certain National Insurance numbers, particularly those beginning with 'NJ' or 'TJ'.

This issue is being investigated and we expect it to be resolved in early 2025. Until then, we won't be able to process your ISA transfer. We're really sorry about this.

  • Years ago I transferred 3 Post Office ISAs to Halifax with no problems.

I don't think it's down to that as mine doesn't start with either of those combos.  According to the PO it initially was because there is a bonus on top of interest even though it's instant access they treat it like a fixed term account and the second excuse was because the new instant access pot had been open for less than 14 days!

The messages they sent didn't explsin the 14 day issue though and made out the issue was down to Zopa!!

Just sent the 3rd or 4th request off, fingers crossed this time
