I did the same via chat but got old club Lloyds debit card design

The banks would disagree. They spend a lot of money and time on these designs. I think first direct probably has a very basic design. I agree some banks worry more about brand than practice matters however. Barclays hasn’t changed its design for many years. Perhaps only recently. Some banks are worse than others. But I value a nice design.
