Problem with lastminute

Options

I am very disappointed with my first experience with Lastminute. I booked a weekend at Disney, including tickets. When searching through the site, I clearly specified 3 adults and 1 child. The price calculator displayed the breakfast rate for 4 people. However, for mysterious technical reasons, the reservation was only confirmed for 2 adults, but the price remained the same as the one shown for 4. Unfortunately, I did not think to take screenshots.

I hadn’t thoroughly checked my confirmation email, focusing mainly on the dates. Upon our arrival at the hotel, we discovered that the reservation had been confirmed for only 2 people. We ended up paying an additional 600 euros, making Lastminute’s “advantageous” offer completely irrelevant compared to other agencies.

On Saturday, when we arrived at the hotel, it was impossible to contact Lastminute to resolve the issue. Later, I managed to reach them, and they promised an email follow-up, but I haven't received anything since. This situation is disappointing and hard to believe, and I feel powerless due to the lack of support. Has anyone else encountered similar difficulties with incorrect reservation details on Lastminute?

Always check your confirmation emails when booking any type of trip.
  • I think it's fair to say lastminute.com do not enjoy the best of reputations - nearly as many negative comments on TrustPilot as positive ones.
    TripAdvisor also has similar threads.
    Which's opinion (below) is clear.

    Should I book with Lastminute.com?

No. Its prices may be reasonable but there are plenty of better-rated companies. The fact that one in four had a problem on their holiday is also a red flag, especially when combined with mediocre and poor customer service ratings.

  • I've booked 2 flights to Paris for myself and granddaughter. Money has been taken from my bank account but Ive not had confirmation from Last minute. I've since reviewed them and I'm so angry with myself as didn't realise they have bad reviews. What do I do now?

how long since you made the booking request? it may take them up to 48 hours to see if they can issue tickets at the price they advertised. If they contact you to ask for more money as the fare had 'sold out' say you do not wish to proceed at the new price - do not mention the word 'cancel'
If you get your tickets they will likely be non-refundable so just hope that there are not changes required and enjoy your trip with your granddaughter.
not everyone will have issues with them, some people book and receive tickets and travel as planned.

Last minute were absolutely terrible during the Pandemic, shut down their phones and didn't respond for months. Eventually the government threatened them to get them back to settling claims.

They eventually resolved my claim and I received some of my refund as a voucher, which meant I had to use them again. We booked a holiday and it went well.

Like many budget agents there will be compromises and limited service from them, but if it goes well you will save a few pounds.

I'm now mostly trying to book direct, as I think the risks outweigh the benefits of the budget companies.

Had a holiday cancelled that was booked with Lastminute. Price was refunded as a voucher but now coming to book a new trip there is nowhere to enter the voucher code when you get to the payment page. Whole thing just seems to be designed to avoid having to pay out money. Customer services are of no use and from online comments it appears the voucher box is sometimes there and sometimes not. Definitely one to avoid if you have any other options to use!
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
