Yes it's probably a requirement in order to boost their sm installation numbers but I can see no technical reason as it is a flat rate and they are already paying me metered not deemed export via FIT. I don't know why the cant fit a smart meter. I have asked but no response.0

Yes, definitely an export meter. I bafgered my then supplier to fit it back in 2013 as I export about 85% rather than 50%. Octopus are currently paying me metered export at FIT rates without querying the accuracy.

Yes. But I want Outgoing Octopus not SEG.

AFAIK, if you are an Octopus customer their SEG rate is 15p per kWh. "Outgoing Octopus" is just branding. Your fundamental problem is that you spoke to a Customer Services rep. who had no idea what they were talking about.Reed0

You get a better response via Twitter / X, from my personal experience of moving my deemed export (was with EDF), to metered export with Octopus on the fixed outgoing rate @15p. I did that this year.I resurected an old Twitter account, that I'd used about three times previously. My emails weren't being answered by Octopus, (not long after the Shell takeover = too busy staff), and I prefer all things in writing.I left the other part of my FIT with EDF...just because I can.0
