Copy of Letter of Administration

Hi
My dad died and myself and my siblings were administrators of my dad's estate, everything has been settled now but I'm currently pursuing a clinical negligence case against the hospital regarding my dad's death and the solicitor wants a letter of Administration in order to proceed. I can't find this anywhere! Is there anywhere I can go to get a copy of this? Would I need to ask the solicitor who was dealing with my dad's estate is there somewhere else I can go? I've looked through all my documents and can't find anything at home so I'm really stuck.

TIA

Was there a will or was he intestate?

If there was a will you/your solicitors would probably have to have applied for probate, depending on the size of the estate. If there was no will, if he was intestate, then you/your solicitor would probably have had to apply for Letters of Administration.

I'm assuming that the hospital is asking for "Letters of Administration" and not "a letter of administration" as per your post.

If probate or letters of administration were needed you can obtain a copy from the probate office.

    https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/

I am assuming here you are in England or Wales.

    Hi thanks for your replies

I was meaning Letters of Administration. As there was no will his estate was divided up equally between his children and we were made administrator's. The solicitor who is taking on the negligence claim needs my Letter of Administration in order to proceed on my behalf.
And yes it is in England.
I clicked on the link above and input my father's details and it says no results but says date of probable was 7th September 2021.

So when it gives you a date of probate, does it not give you the option to pay £1.50 and download the grant of probate ? If it does this is what you want as it should name the adminstrators....

No frustratingly it just lists my dad's name and date of death and date of probate and nothing else and no option to even view any documents.

I don't think this will be a certified copy - but then not sure it matters for this?

You won’t be able to view the, but the final column should be ‘add to basket’ - us that not showing?

My goodness I'm abit slow! I hadn't scrolled across the screen! So It lists the probate number and then in capital letters says ADMINISTRATION then add to basket, I've added to basket but I can't see anywhere on the screen to view the basket and check out?
    Edit* I've found the basket!!

OK that has been ordered. So is this the letter of Administration that will list me and my siblings as Adminstrators?

It will do if who ever submitted the application action included you all as administrators. I’d does not sound like you had any involvement with the paperwork.
